On Lincoln’s Trail

At age 19 Lincoln left home for good and moved to the tiny hamlet of New Salem, IL located on the bluffs of the Sangamon River northwest of Springfield, IL.  While only 100 people lived there everyone expected it to blossom into a boom town.
